Zeda M. Zehner Larsen, Wisconsin Zeda M. Zehner, age 101, of Larsen, passed away Monday, March 14, 2011, at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Home in Menasha. She was born January 4, 1910, to the late William and Amanda (Schultz) Frye. On December 2, 1932, Zeda married Lester Zehner, and they made their home in the Town of Poygan. Zeda and Lester then engaged in farming beginning in the Town of Winneconne, and retiring in the Town of Winchester. Zeda and Lester were recognized by various organizations for their continued efforts in conservation and wildlife habitat improvement. Zeda's hobbies included growing flowers, gardening, sewing, boating, and she was still cross country skiing into her early 80's. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, and wrote many prayer journals. Zeda loved spending time with her grandchildren, babysitting them, preparing treasure hunts for the grandchildren, participating in attic plays, and enjoying ice skating parties at the farm. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Winchester, and its Prayer and Share Group, along with a number of the Circle groups at church. Zeda is survived by one son and two daughters-in-law, Phillip and Shirley Zehner, of Larsen; Margaret Zehner, of Allenville; grandchildren, John Zehner, and Sue Zehner, of Neenah; Sue and Jess Caponigro, of Sun City, California; Jean and Mitch Beatty, of Neenah; Peggy and Kevin Foster, of Talkeetna, Alaska; Liz and Jim Luce, of Winneconne; Jane and John Kiesow, of Neenah; Lester and Lisa Zehner, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Georgia Zehner, of Larsen; Lynn Larson, of Larsen; David and Jodi Zehner, of Neenah;; sixteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Along with her parents, Zeda was also preceded in death by her husband, Lester, on December 19, 1995; one son, Leslie Zehner; a grandson, James; and three sisters and two brothers. A Funeral Service for Zeda will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church of Winchester, Larsen, Wisconsin, with Pastor Dan Luett officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Lutheran Cemetery. A Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Grace Lutheran Church in Zeda's name. Zeda's Prayer Jesus, tender shepherd, hear me. Bless your little lamb tonight.
