Marvel Margaret Mary Meyer (Wagner), age 60 of Oshkosh, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2009 as a result of ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease) at Hospice Home of Hope, Fond du Lac, WI.
Marvel was a sparkling personality and a great friend to many. She lived up to her name...she was truly Marvelous. Those who were fortunate enough to have met Marvel would never forget her. When anyone was in need, she was always there. No one could throw a party better than Marvel. She was happiest when she knew all her friends were having fun!!
Marvel was born on September 2, 1948 in Oshkosh, WI, the daughter of the late John (Tige) and Margaret (Gavin) Meyer. She graduated from Winneconne High School and attended Patricia Stevens School in Milwaukee, WI. Marvel was employed in various retail jobs, and was a truly creative person who could make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Marvel was very fortunate to have traveled the world and had many entertaining stories to tell about her travels. She loved her music and was always ready to dance.
Marvel was the mother of two sons: Adam and Todd (Charlotte) of Ogden, UT. She had three beloved granddaughters: Hannah, Katie, and Samantha of Ogden UT. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Joan Meyer of Winneconne, WI, and two nephews, Kevin (Jeana) Meyer of Winneconne, WI and Kyle (Shannon) Meyer of Edgerton, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents and her special dog, Darby.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Winneconne, WI.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday June 18, 2009 at 3:30 p.m. at St Mary Catholic Church 210 Pleasant Drive, Winneconne, WI with Fr. Doug LeCaptain and Sr. Pam Biehl officiating. Private interment will take place at St. Thomas Cemetery, Town of Poygan, WI. Friends and relatives may call at the church on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the services.
In lieu of flowers, Marvel requested that donations be made to the ALS Organization, and the Christine Ann Center.
The family wishes to express a thank you to the Share the Care Group, the Fox Valley ALS Support Group, and Hospice Home of Hope in Fond Du Lac, WI for their wonderful loving care.
Marvel will always be remembered for making everyone smile and laugh. We will truly miss her...
