Lila M. Overton, age 86, of Oshkosh died Friday, December 23, 2016, at home. She was born August 7, 1930, in Racine to the late G.J. and Muriel (Burmeister) Steffenson. On June 7, 1952, she married William Overton at the Algoma Blvd. United Methodist Church in Oshkosh. Lila graduated as an R.N. from the Mercy School of Nursing, and had worked as a nurse in Racine and at Park View Health Center, Oshkosh. Lila worked alongside Bill on the family farm and was a vital part of the farm and full partner with Bill.
She was a member of: Trinity Episcopal Church and its Women's group, Oshkosh Job's Daughters, and Order of the Eastern Star. Lila had been a Winning Wolves Club 4-H leader for knitting, crocheting, dairy, and foods, and had served as a 4-H camp nurse, and a volunteer at the Winnebago County Fair and Park View Health Center Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Lila is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bill; three children, Sue, John (Judy), Charlie (Cindy); eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; and other relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, Lila was also preceded in death by a daughter, Katharine Blaauw; a grandson, Nathaniel Overton; a brother, John Steffenson; four brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law.
A visitation for family and friends will be on Monday, January 2, 2017, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church 311 Division St. Oshkosh. A Rite of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the church with Fr. Chris Arnold officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Plummer Cemetery, town of Oshkosh.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Trinity Episcopal Church or the Winnebago County 4-H.

Lila & Bill have been Neighbors for 40 years, and even though we traveled in different circles the Overton Family have been friends with the Schmoker Family ( Joanne's ) , going back many many years. Last time we saw Lila she was at the Dr's office , knitting in the reception area. Our symphonies to the Family
