Charity “Pat” Carini

Having been weakened by multiple illnesses, Charity “Pat” Carini of Winneconne (late of Country Villa, Omro) now rests comfortably with the Lord as of February 9, 2024. She was born August 19, 1931, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Helen and Leo Greenley. She married Joseph A. Carini on March 31, 1951, in Milwaukee. Pat worked various jobs until 1966 at which time they moved to Grafton, WI where they started in the bar business. Together they owned and operated Pat and Joe's bar until 1978. They then moved to Winneconne, WI where they established a new Pat and Joe's bar. They continued to operate the bar, completing 25 years as owners of the Pat and Joe’s establishments until Joe passed away in 1991 just a few days before retirement.

Pat enjoyed being the next-door grandma to her three grandchildren in her mother-in-law apartment that allowed her to be a part of their daily lives. It also meant she was the designated babysitter, dog watcher and cat sitter through the years, as well as the occasional chauffeur, or lender of her car as the need arose.

Pat was always an avid reader and made many trips to the local libraries to keep a fresh supply of books on hand. As the years progressed, she spent many hours following the cable news channels on TV. She was also an animal lover, helping to care for the various pets in the house and enjoyed seeing the deer out her windows.

Pat is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John (Yvonne) Carini of Marietta, GA; one daughter and son-in-law, Diane (James) Paulsen of Winneconne, WI; two loving granddaughters, Amanda (Matt) Normington of Pittsville, WI; and Alyssa (special friend Tom) of New London, WI; and one grandson, Jared (Erika) Paulsen in Waco, TX. She is further survived by four great-grandchildren, Lily Jane, Cashton and Jameson Normington, and Jonah Paulsen, and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Carini; one loving sister, Kathleen (James) Taylor; and four brothers, Charles Greenley, Joseph Greenley, Kenneth Greenley and Neil Greenly.

In respect of Charity’s wishes, no services will be held. Cremation will take place and burial will be at a later date with immediate family.
