Gloria Jean (Morrison)
Davis, 80, Omro, WI, passed away at home, on August 23, 2025, holding the hand
of her best friend and husband of 44 years.
Gloria, was
born in Berlin, WI on November 13, 1944, to Roy and Gladys Morrison.
She was
preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Rick; and stepson, Ron.
Gloria is
survived by her sister, Rhonda (Paul) Nichols; and her brothers, Doug (Diana),
Roger (Jean), Kent (Mary), and Brad (Dave).
She graduated
from Wautoma High School in 1962. Gloria worked many, many jobs, sometimes all
at once to take care of her family. Later she returned to school and got her degree
as a Technician of Chiropractic at Palmer University, while her husband Ed
studied to become a chiropractor.
She had two
children during her first marriage, Robert (Stacy) Wagner in 1966, and Wende
Wagner in 1970.
Mom married
Ed in April of 1981, and Bryce was born much, much, much later that year. Also
joining them were Ed’s children, Ronald “Ron” and Yvonne “Vonnie” (Dave).
Spoiler you two, there is no Santa!
Her
grandchildren include Matthew “Matt” 1985, Katherine “Katy” (Teddy) Osborne
1988, Caitlyn “Caty” 1992, Courtlyn “Charlie” 1995, Jacob “Jake” 2001, Hanna
and Robert “RJ” (Aeries) 2002. Her great-grandson Liam was added in 2019.
Our mom had
an amazing sense of humor, ESPECIALLY if the joke was on her! She also rarely
sat down.
She enjoyed
biking, especially to work which was sometimes 20 miles or more away, gardening,
and hauling her children and grandchildren to church camp for more years than
we can count.
Mom was an
avid skier, water and snow, and could still get out of the water on one ski at
79. We can all still hear her scream as she gets into a lake somewhere.
She loved
waterfall hikes, camping on the Wisconsin River, and RVing around the country
to visit friends and family.
Gloria was
semi famous, locally, as she was once on a cooking show where she made
Wisconsin chili with [grabs elbow on live tv] elbow macaroni. Then there’s the
time she drove off with a gas hose in Omro. Twice. In one week. From the same
gas station.
She loved her
birds, especially orioles, and her bird feeders, her family, border collies
(Shout out to Gypsy and Rebel!) and green olive pizza from Pizza Ranch. No,
more olives than that. Nope, still more. GIVE ME ALL THE GREEN OLIVES YOU HAVE!
She was our mom.
She was our Nana. She was so much more to all of us.
A celebration
to honor her life will be held at Poplar Creek Barn, 4541 Cty Rd K in Oshkosh
on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. with fireworks at 5:30.
Take the
slack out. Hit it.
